At long last! I promised my dad many years ago as a small child I would never ride a motorcycle on the street and he would kill me if I bought one. He's had his Monster for 7 years now and he keeps toying with selling it and every time he mentions it I tell him he has to let me at least drive around the mile loop that is my neighborhood but he never bites. Yesterday he finally bit! I donned his helmet and threw a leg over and he showed me how it all works. I found some difficulty finding neutral half a click between 1st and 2nd which was weird but I got it. He made me start in 2nd and gave me a good shove off and I eased out the clutch and away I was. I cruised around 25mph a quarter of the way around the block and when I made it out of the first turn (which was really weird and I found some difficulty turning for some reason) I gave it a little juice. Just a touch. But whoa. Slowing down... I got around the next corner with about an 1/8th mile sight line and gave it a little more throttle. Just a slight twist of the handle and the whole world started to streak by me just like that old screensaver for windows with the stars flying by. OMG. It was so intense and scary. Even more intense and scary is that it still couldve been sooo much faster. I ended up doing two laps of the block for a total of nearly 2 miles and afterwards my arms and legs were all jello and my perception of space and time was forever altered. I gave it back and dad congratulated me on my first and last motorcycle ride hahaha #coolstorybro

Your father rides a motorcycle himself yet forbids you to?

Now you understand what all riders feel like. And it never goes away.

Yuuup :/ its alright because I'd kill myself on a bike. I'm a million times more a car guy.

I personally think all Ducatis have no low-end torque after riding the Multistrada. God forbid the other models being the same torque rating!

Yeah bikes are crazy, its mind blowing the ferocity those things have if you even slightly push it. Definitely a good way to cut your life expectancy though so I am sticking to 4 wheels. If I want some open air exhilaration I'll go with jet skis, nothing gets the heart going like going 70 mph over the waves. I remember once I cut too fast on one of those and what happened next nearly caused me to soil myself. Picture a hairpin turn at 65mph, if there is such a thing as oppo on the seas I sure as hell achieved it.

If what I experienced was no low end torque, then I really, realllyyy should never, ever ride any other liter bike as long as I live..

I actually found out the Ducati techs tuned it that way after a chat with a specialist. FFFFFF Well played, Italy.
Though there are other liter bikes that could top il Monstro. Triumph, Aprilia, Suzuki, and my personal recommendation - Kawasaki.
... I still want to ride the 'Busa.
